queen street station

Glasgow Queen Street Station. It's not quite as big a beggar ned haven as Glasgow Central but it still has it's fair share. You will occasionally get the obligatory story from a vagrant but it's rare compared to Central. Maybe it's because the trains don't go to quite as 'nice' places from Central? Or maybe it's because you can get to Paisley from Central? No comment. In reality Queen Street Station is cold and boring and laden with "non functioning" beggars. Quite a sedate place.

The toilet in this train station (I can only speak for the men's, honest) is a smelly delight. After you pay your 20p to get in there is a 10 minute walk (maybe a slight exaggeration) through a labrynth style corridor. It's often a great relief when you reach the toilet without pissing yourself after a hazerdous journey, usually past a guy wanting some spare change. Did that guy pay 20p to go into the toilet and ask for money? I guess it must make good business sense.

"I was sitting in the burger king in queen street station and this (seemingly) skaghead homeless chap came and sat at the table opposite and asked for my food. Well of course I said no as I was jolly hungry. The chap wasn't too pleased about this and threatened to "do me over" if I didn't give him my chips...at which point he grabbed them and ran off." - Sean, Perth
